Brandi Edwards was a social worker in a Chicago high school who has been arrested and charged for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old male student in her car as well as in a hotel room.

The 26-year-old Brandi Edwards (mugshot photo above) was working as a social worker at the Rise Alternative High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois; a internship in fulfillment of master’s degree requirements at Governors State University. Her full name is Brandi Dominique Edwards and is is variously known as Brandi D. Edwards. She is a resident of Homer Glen, Illinois, according to The Chicago Tribune .

The newspaper goes on to quote an official from the Cook County Prosecutor’s office noting that the alleged sexual relationship between Edward and the 16-year-old alleged victim, a student at Rise Alternative High School started after she wrote her cell phone number on his journal. Thereafter they exchanged sexually explicit messages prior to meeting in person.

It’s further alleged that last November she picked up the teenager at his home and engaged in sex with him in her car behind his house. There are allegedly four separate instances in which Edwards had sex with the student according to the prosecution. The second time was also in her car near his home, the third time at a “forest preserve” and the four time in a hotel room. The relationship is alleged to have lasted several months.

Edwards was arrested and in Cook County Court she was charged with criminal sex assault. The Chicago Tribute further reports that during her appearance in court, Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. set bail and ordered her to be pup on electronic monitoring. She was further ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Governors State University in Interdisciplinary Studies and lists four months of employment as a Crisis Counselor for the The Association for Individual Development.
