Phillip Phillips is engaged to Hannah Blackwell, his longtime fiance. The happy couple shared their engagement ring photos on Twitter and on Instagram. The gorgeous diamond ring and, even more importantly, the radiant smiles of a couple in love have brought some holiday cheer to social media.
Yes, it’s official! The 24-year-old American Idol winner Phillip Phillips and his now-fiance Hannah Blackwell, 24, broke the news themselves, on Twitter, the society pages of our social media era. The couple chose the increasingly popular direct route, eschewing reps and celebrity magazines.
Phillips Tweeted on the day after Christmas: “My best Christmas surprise is happening. “We’re engaged yall! @HannahBlackwell !” And with it, the beautiful picture you see above.
For her part, Hannah Blackwell Tweeted: “I’ve been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I’ve been dreaming of this guy for just that long….” And with the Tweet, a link to the Instagram pic, posted with this caption: “I’ve been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I’ve been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness. @phillphill.”
As of yet, the couple has not announced a wedding date. They have been together for many years, since they were 18 years old, having met in their hometown of Leesburg, Georgia long before Phillip Phillips became the winner of American Idol in 2012, and went on to become one of the more successful of the Idol alum, notably with his debut single, ‘Home,’ which became a multi-platinum selling international smash hit. He’s gone on to much success since, having released a sophomore album, [Behind the Light,’ which has also spawned hits, including ‘Raging Fire.’ And all the while, as the fans have swooned over him along with his music, he’s had a loyal partner by his side, who will become his wife.
Yes, not rumor or speculation, Phillip Phillips and Hannah Blackwell are indeed engaged, and you can see both pictures of the beautiful diamond ring below!
