The 22-year-old Symone Greene (photo above; more pictures below) is a substitute teacher at at Options Public Charter School in Washington, DC. The story has gotten international attention as it has all the right ingredients; the incident allegedly took place at a school in the nation’s capital on a teacher’s first day of school and the sexual encounter was recorded on video and shared among students.
Here are the details of the allegations.
According to WUSA9 quoting the arrest warrant the alleged incident took place on October 17th in a classroom at Options Public Charter School.
The alleged victim, a 17-year-old male student, told police that he was working as an office assistant and had helped Symone Greene twice that day in her English class. The teen told police that he flirted with the teacher during the class and that he gave her his cell phone number. He said that he later received a text from her.
He told police he could not remember exactly what the message said but said he asked her if she were “kinky.”
According to the arrest warrant, it’s alleged that Greene responded saying, “I don’t tell I show,”
The student went to Greene’s classroom later that same day and it is alleged that at that time she performed oral sex on him behind her desk at his request. It’s further alleged that he asked her to perform sex on him the same number of times as his football jersey number and that he fondled her while she performed the sex act.
Unknown to Greene, the student recorded the sexual encounter and showed the video to his team mates as well as to a friend, according to the document.
It’s further alleged that during the weekend, Greene and the student exchanged text messages and that she sent a picture of herself (clothed) to him. She also allegedly sent him a text in which she told him not to tell anyone; “Please SAY what I told U to.”
According to a statement from the executive director of the school, the school administrators found out about the alleged incident on Monday morning and they “immediately contacted the Child and Family Services Agency, the Metropolitan Police Department, and the parent of the student.”
Symone Greene was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault against a minor in a significant relationship, a felony offense. Although the age of consent in the District of Columbia is 16, Greene was so charged because she was the alleged victim’s teacher, which fits the definition of “significant relationship.”
During her first appearance in court, Symone Greene pleaded not guilty. She was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim, from minors as well as Options Public Charter School.
No additional details of Symone Greene’s bio and professional background were reported.
