The arrest of the 66-year-old Grammy-winning singer — who is forever known as for the iconic 1970s hit “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” — has made news worldwide giving her much attention in unfortunate circumstances. There is too the usual clamor to find the Lynn Anderson booking photo (above) which as is always the case with celebrities has instantly gone viral in social media and online in general.

According to The Tennessean, quoting the arrest warrant, Lynn Anderson was arrested at the scene of a car accident when police observed that she showed “signs of impairment.” The warrant further notes that she admitted to having “mixed alcohol and prescription medications before crashing her car.”

She was booked into jail and charged with DUI. She was released the next day on a $5,000 bond.

The Tennessean further notes that she was arrested in 2004 in Denton, Texas for DUI and that issued a written statement via her manager Michael Dempsy which said in part that she was “deeply sorry for anyone that I have harmed along this path.” She went on to say in the statement, “I apologize for the choices I made and subsequent actions on Thursday evening that ultimately resulted in the accident. “By the grace of God, I am very grateful that no one was injured as a result. I am committed to the accountable steps that I will be facing on the road to recovery.”

TMZ reports that she has previously been in rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic. While Lynn Anderson is known for her signature hit — as well as for ‘Top of the World’ — in the 1970s, she had additional hit songs through the 1980s and had 11 songs reach No. 1 on the singles charts.
