What is the full story on the Iggy Azalea sex tape? That was the question and now as the Australian rapper herself and the ex-boyfriend rapper Hefe Wine, who claims to be in the tape speak out, the story gets bigger and bigger. Get the latest updates on this latest such example of private celebrity sex allegedly turning into porn for public consumption.
It’s become commonplace. If it’s not leaked nude photos, it’s a sex tape being shopped around to the highest bidder. This time it’s Iggy Azalea who has had a breakthrough year with ‘Fancy,’ the international hit and song of the summer. Now there’s possibly another hit on the way, if it proves to be real.
According to TMZ, the alleged sex tape was in the hands of the well-known porn company, Vivid Entertainment. As the story broke, the usual frenzy ensued. The search for the tape and the search for some evidence that it was real and not a hoax. The tape is still “reportedly” the tape as there is no proof of its existence.
As she did last year with her wardrobe malfunction at the MTV EMAs, Iggy Azalea took to social media. She Tweeted “I don’t have a sex tape.” She then proceeded to sent out a series of Tweets denouncing the very idea of someone shopping around such a tape and made valid points, quite forcefully.
In part, she Tweeted, “Anyone who releases or attempts to make profit off someone else’s intimate moments against their will is a sex offender.” She added, “& it honestly makes me sick to see the media encourage any other attitude towards those sorts of people, we should want to protect our women.”
Later, TMZ reported that when Iggy Azalea’s legal team acknowledged the tape, and said that her ex was attempting to sell it out of revenge. And not only that, but there was the distinct possibility it might be illegal as her legal team alleges she was underage when it was made and that it was made “without her knowledge or consent.”
Now, as the story continues to unfold, her ex-boyfriend, a rapper named Jefe Wine (also known variously as Wine-O) has come forward and says he’s the man in the alleged sex tape — and that despite what she says, Iggy Azalea was above the age of 18 and that she also knew she was being videoed.
TMZ further reports that now that he has claimed a stake in this he is now allegedly negotiating a deal with Vivid Video for the release of the sex tape.
As the back and forth continues, so does the speculation as the rising interest.
We’ve almost reached the stage where social media and the Internet itself take the place of such packaged “sex tapes.” Whether real or not once they are out there, they are out there, and those who are looking for the download links will find them. Either that or they are spoofed, or worse, find their computers and mobile devices infected with malware. Regardless of how they find their way online they are out there forever.
The Iggy Azalea sex tape story is still developing; check back for the updates.
