Amy Joanne Mainville is a former teacher’s aide in Texas who has been arrested and faces a felony charge for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old male student. According to the police she admitted to having had sexual relations with the teen.
The 29-year-old Amy Joanne Mainville (mugshot photo above) was employed as a teacher’s aide at Copperas Cove High School in Copperas Cove, Texas.
According to KWTX quoting from the arrest affidavit the investigation by the Copperas Cove Police Department began in early September when the alleged victim’s mother told police she had found several “inappropriate” Facebook messages that Mainville and her 15-year-old son had exchanged. In the affidavit the content of the messages is characterized as indicating that “there may have been a sexual relationship.” The alleged victim is a student at Copperas Cove High School.
When Manville was questioned by police about the relationship she said initially that it was “only conversations via Facebook.” However, the affidavit goes on to note that she said to the investigator, “I’m tired of this.” She then went on to admit that she had had a sexual relationship with the student. She said that the teen came to her house at night and that after her children were asleep they had sex together.
The Copperas Cove Police arrested Amy Joanne Mainville and she was booked into into jail and was charged with a felony, improper relationship between educator and student. She was released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond.
As for additional details on Amy Joanne Mainville’s bio and professional background, none were given other than the confirmation from the CCISD superintendent that her employment at Copperas Cove High School had been terminated in August prior to the start of the police investigation and the Texas Education Agency had been notified. According to the affidavit, she was fired for the Facebook messages.
