Updated below. Danielle Watkins is a high school teacher in Stamford, Connecticut who has been arrested and charged for allegedly having sex with a 18-year-old student in her car. It is further alleged that the sexual relationship continued for several months and that she supplied him with marijuana and also that she threatened to fail him if he ended it.

The 32-year-old Danielle Watkins (mugshot photo above; more images below) is an English teacher at Stamford High School in Stamford, Connecticut. She is a resident of Norwalk, Connecticut.
According to The Hartford Courant, quoting an official source, police were first informed of the alleged improper conduct after the alleged victim told a school counselor who then reported it to the school board and the state Department of Children and Families.
the alleged 18-year-old male victim told police that he and Danielle Watkins had had numerous sexual encounters in her car. He further alleged that these encounters took place during school hours in her car which was not parked on school property.
According to the police report, the sexual relationship is alleged to have lasted for approximately eight months; beginning last September and ending in June of this year. Additionally, Watkins sent naked photos of herself to the alleged victim’s phone.
The teenager also alleged that Watkins gave him and his 15-year-old friend marijuana. Additionally, she let him drive her car even though he did not have a license. Police also spoke with the friend who told them they received marijuana from Watkins on numerous occasions.
The student told police that when he tried to end the relationship, Watkins assaulted him and accused him of seeing someone else. Additionally, she threatened to fail him if he did not continue the sexual involvement, according to the police.
Police also obtained search warrants for Watkins’ residence, vehicle and phone. When they pulled her over in her vehicle, the report notes that she attempted to hide her phone. During the search police found marijuana and in their report they allege that she was “verbally combative” and thus was arrested for interfering a search warrant as well as for possession of marijuana.
An examination of her phone revealed evidence of the nude pictures that the alleged victim said she had sent him, as well as more than 2,000 text messages and hundreds of calls between them.
Danielle Watkins surrendered to the Stamford Police Department for arrest. She was booked into jail and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of sale of marijuana and one count of risk of injury to a minor.
No additional details on Danielle Watkins’ bio and professional background were reported other than her employment at Stamford High School. However, Hartford Courant quotes the school superintendent who confirms that she has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Her Facebook indicates that she is the married mother of two young children.
*Update: According to the Stamford Times, quoting court documents, Danielle Watkins has been admitted into “locked residential acute psychiatric care” at Silver Hills in New Canaan, Connecticut. The newspaper further notes it is a nonprofit hospital specializing in the treatment of psychiatric and addictive disorders. Watkins is scheduled to appear in court in Stamford on July 31st.
*Update: Danielle Watkins was arrested again (new booking photo above) and was charge with for allegedly threatening one of her victims. According to the Stamford Advocate, she confronted the victim at a local coffee shop and made threatening statements to him. The teen then told his mother what happened and they notified the police.
Later, according to victim’s lawyer, Watkins called him while he was at the police station and made additional threats. A warrant was issued and Watkins was arrested for violating the order that she stay away from th victims. Watkins is currently being held on a $25,000 cash bond. Check back for more updates.
In December, prior to this second arrest, Watkins had accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. She was sentenced under this agreement to nine months to four years in jail.
