Michelle Strickland is a former band teacher in Houston, Texas who has been arrested and charged for allegedly having ongoing sexual contact with an 18-year-old student on school property.
The 23-year-old Michelle Strickland (mugshot photo above) was a teacher and assistant band director at Stratford High School in Houston, Texas and was fired during the course of the investigation into her alleged improper conduct.
According to KTRK, quoting the official court documents, the investigation into Strickland’s alleged improper conduct was prompted by an anonymous email that was sent to the principal of the school.
It is alleged that an investigation by the Spring Branch ISD Police revealed that Michelle Strickland and the alleged victim, an 18-year-old band student engaged in frequent sexual contact on the school property, specifically in one of the storage rooms in the band hall. They are alleged to have engaged in sexual activity including kissing and oral sex and kissing.
As part of the investigation police also found explicit text messages on the student’s cell phone which he allegedly exchanged with the teacher.
KHOU reports that police say the alleged victim admitted the sexual contact and also said that he and Strickland had sexual intercourse at his home during spring break and it was the one and only time they had done so.
Michelle Strickland surrendered for arrest and was booked into jail. She was charged with improper relationship with a student, a felony. Upon posting bond, she was released.
No additional details on Michelle Strickland’s bio and professional background were reported other than that she was in her first year of teaching. The Spring Branch ISD issued a statement confirming that she has been fired at the start of the investigation for violating the school’s social media policy.
