Jennifer Lopez spoke out about her weight loss in a cover story interview with US Weekly revealing details of her vegan diet and dance-workout fitness routine which have given her such success.
The multi-hyphenate entertainer and American Idol judge is on the cover of the magazine as she reaches her 45th birthday and cuts a svelte figure in a dazzling yet simple rust-orange asymmetrical mini dress that hugs her famous curves as the headline blazes that she had a “new body at 44.” Being a dutiful celebrity magazine, there’s also mention that she is rumored to be dating DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy in the aftermath of her split with Casper Smart.
But the main event is the physical transformation. Jennifer Lopez is happily flaunting 10-pound weight loss which has resulted in a drop from dress size 4 to size 2. She said of the transformation, in the US Weekly, interview, “You got to work out, you got to watch what you eat. It’s a job – you’ve got to buckle down.”
She explained it was the result of several weeks of six-hour dance workouts as well as a strict vegan diet which began with a 22-day cleanse which served as a kickstart. She eliminated meat, dairy and gluten from her diet, and went on to note that her entire family went on the diet along with her, including her six-year-old twins Max and Emme.
As for her exercise routine, she was under the guidance of celebrity exercise physiologist Marco Borges who has worked the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z, Pharrell Williams and Shakira among others. She touted the daily six-hour dance workouts while also making of one of his products, a the 22 Days cherry chocolate bliss bar, which she had incorporated into her diet.
