The 57-year-old Yahoo! News Global anchor Katie Couric had been dating the 51-year-old financier for the past couple of years and got engaged in September of last year.
Some time after the wedding, she Tweeted the image above and captioned it: “So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner! ”
Thus far, it is the only picture released in social media. The couple was fortunate in that they did not face an invasion of paparazzi and thus their intimate and private ceremony had only their invited guests. That’s not a given in this day and age, unfortunately.
As for the small ceremony which reportedly had only 50 guests, People magazine reports that Katie Couric spoke of her intentions saying, “”We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key. “This is not my first rodeo so I didn’t want to go too crazy and neither did John.”
As for details of the beautiful wedding, People further reports that the beautiful wedding dress Katie Couric is seen wearing in the picture above was designed by Carmen Marc Valvo and an ivory beaded and embroidered Chantilly lace halter gown.
It’s exciting to see her get married again. It is her second marriage; her first husband Jay Monahan, died tragically of colon cancer in 1998. They had two daughters together who are now both adults, Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 18. The marriage is also the second for John Molner who is divorced from his first wife. Both of Couric’s daughters were in attendance at the wedding as were Molmer’s children Allie and Henry.
Check back for updates and more pictures which will be added if and when they arrive!
