Linda L. Burke is a teacher in Virginia who has been arrested and charged a felony for assaulting a police investigator who was investigating allegations that she may have engaged in improper conduct with a student.
The 41-year-old Linda L. Burke (mugshot photo above) is an ESOL (English as Second Language) teacher at Potomac High School in Dumfries, Virginia.
According to wtop.com quoting an official police source, she is being investigated for allegations of an improper relationship with an underage student. The Virginia State Police are conducting the investigation rather than the Prince Williams County police department because she is married to a detective with that department.
The station further reports that according to a police spokesperson, Burke was arrested after assaulting a Virginia state police officer who was conducting an interview with her regarding the allegations. She faces one count of felony assault on a police officer as well as a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice. The spokesperson also confirms that Burke continues to be under investigation for the original allegation of improper conduct with a minor.

The publication further confirms via school officials that she is on administrative leave from her job pending the outcome of the investigation.
