Updated below. Elliot Rodger is an alleged suspect in a mass shooting at UC Santa Barbara in Isla Vista, California that left seven people dead and seven injured. A disturbing video entitled ‘Retribution’ was posted to YouTube before the shooting massacre.
The 22-year-old is the alleged suspect although not yet named as the official suspect by police. According to CNN quoting official Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office sources, the mass shooting has been deemed “premeditated mass murder.’
CNN further reports that the horrific incident began on Friday night at 9:27 p.m. PT local time and ended ten minutes later with the discovery of the body of the alleged shooter by deputy sheriffs after he had exchanged gunfire with them. In the short span of time, the alleged shooter killed seven people and injured seven others, by firing a gun from a black BMW. In the aftermath there are nine crime scenes and the investigation is underway.
Although the name of the suspect was not immediately released, TMZ reported that Elliot Roger is the son of Peter Roger, the second assistant director of ‘The Hunger Games.’
The video which you can see below reveals a chilling denouncement that lasts approximately seven minutes. The individual, believed to be Elliot Roger faces the camera and reveals the motive for committing mass murder; in essence, sexual frustration and what he perceived as rejection by women.
He said, “I’m 22 years old and I’m still a virgin. I’ve never even kissed a girl.” He went on to say elaborate upon his frustration and to reveal his plans — in profane language — “to enter the hottest sorority house of UCSB and I will slaughter every single spoiled, stuck-up, blonde s–t that I see inside there…”
He added, “After I have annihilated every single girl in the sorority house I will take to the streets of Isla Vista and slay every single person I see there. All those popular kids who live such lives of hedonistic pleasure…”
According to KEYT, police authorities are examining the video for its alleged connection to the crime.
