The 47-year-old Oscar-winning actress will soon be seen on television portraying an astronaut in the science fiction series ‘Extant.’ She is also among the star-studded cast of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’

But she was very much down to earth in her lively chat with host Ellen DeGeneres and if it seem unusual to watch Halle Berry in a television interview dishing about pregnancy and motherhood it’s because, well, it is!

She launched right speaking about her seven-month-old baby son Maceo, her first child with husband Oliver Martinez noting what a surprise he was. She said, “I didn’t think it was possible at my age, honestly. They call it a geriatric pregnancy. I mean, that was heartbreaking.”

She added, “I was, you know, on my way — this is probably way TMI — but I was really kind of premenopausal, so to have this happen was huge.”

She also revealed that her six-year-old daughter Nahla had been praying for a sibling. She said, “She prayed and prayed for him for like a year and a half, for a baby and a bunk bed, and she got both of those things. “Only her prayers could have done this.”

She went on to talk about breastfeeding and what she had observed to be the differences between nursing her daughter and her son. “When I would put Nahla on the boob, she would [have] a nice little girly suck. Him … he’s like sucking the life out of me!”

To underscore the contrast Halle Berry made some sucking faces and noises, thus fully utilizing her acting craft, which to which Ellen DeGeneres quipped, “That was TMI in my opinion.”

Yes, it was a heartwarming and unusually candid interview which you can see below!
