April Jace was Michael Jace’s wife. The world is learning of ‘The Shield’ actor’s spouse in the aftermath of her death in a shooting incident. He was arrested on suspicion of homicide and later charged for the killing.
The 51-year-old Michael Jace is known for his portrayal of Julien Lowe, an LAPD police officer in FX’s popular drama series ‘The Shield.’ In the wee hours of the morning, as news broke around the world, both he and his late wife were dominating the headlines as details of the tragic shooting began to emerge.
According to CNN, when police arrived at the Los Angeles home of the couple, they found the 40-year-old April Jace fatally shot. They quote official police sources who say the “motive of the murder is believed to be domestic violence.”
Michael Jace was arrested and booked into jail. His bail was set at $1 million. TMZ quotes unnamed police sources who say that it was he who called 911 and admitted to killing his wife. Reportedly during the call, he said “I shot my wife.” The site further reports that he is in the process of being charged with murder.
The L.A. Times reports that the couple’s two young children were present at the time of the shooting. The newspaper further reports that police do not have records of police calls for prior domestic violence incidents with the couple and that neighbors likewise had not seen evidence of such.
As for the details of the April Jace biography that many search for under these tragic circumstances, she was 40 years old at the time of her death. Prior to her marriage, the California native was known as April Denise Laune. She attended California State University, Fullerton.
She married Jace in 2003 and the couple had two sons together, nine-year-old Nehemiah and seven-year-old Caleb. She also has a third child from another relationship.
