Thomas Cohen was the husband of Peaches Geldof. The writer, TV presenter and model was daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates. She died suddenly at age 25 leaving her surviving spouse, a music artist, and their two children.
Peaches Geldof was found dead in her home on Monday, April 7. As first reported by BBC, police characterized the death at the time as “unexplained and sudden.”
The -year-old Thomas Cohen released a public statement shortly after her death: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”
Thus the Thomas Cohen biography is forever linked to his late wife. He is formerly the lead vocalist of the band S.C.U.M. and was the second husband of Peaches Geldof who was previously married to Max Drummey, also a music artist. The couple had dated for a year before becoming engaged. They were frequently together on the red carpet, as pictures above and below attest.
They were married in September 2012 in a lavish wedding which had additional significance for Geldof, as it was held at the same church where her parents’ wedding had taken place, and sadly, too, where her mother’s funeral was held. Paula Yates died in 2000 of a heroin overdose when Geldof was just 10 years old. Much has been made of her last Tweet which included an Instagram picture of herself as a young child with her mother.
The story is still developing as the cause of Peaches Geldof’s death at the young age of 25 is not yet known, even as the outpouring of condolences and tributes on Twitter and elsewhere continue. The death is sudden and tragic and all the more so for her family members and loved ones. Our prayers and condolences for them all.
