Over the weekend, 20th Century Fox’s latest installment in the X-Men franchise X-Men First Class ruled the box office. The general consensus is that the film’s great and a worthy entry into the series but there’s one little flaw — January Jones. Lost co-creator, writer, and producer Damon Lindelof recently took to Twitter to voice his disappointment in the actress’ performance.

In X-Men First Class, Jones plays the role of Emma Frost. She’s a mutant, whose abilities include reading minds, projecting imaginary images, and turning her body into diamond. Yet, through all of that, Lindelof, and let’s be honest, a lot of other people, feel as if her performance was lacking.

When giving a mini-review of January Jones’ performance via Twitter, Damon Lindelof wrote, “Emma Frost’s THREE mutant powers: Telepathy, Transformation to Solid Diamond and last but not least, Sucking at Acting.” Well, that was straight to the point. Even though Jones is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominated actress, we have to agree, her performance in the film is lackluster but did it deserve such a scolding?

Lindelof must have had a change of heart about his candid words because he posted this response on his Twitter: “I need to stop saying mean things on Twitter. #MORNINGAFTER.” We wonder if that was genuine regret or something that was pushed on him by the higher ups at Fox? Hmmm.

Emma Frost is a fairly small role in the grand scheme of things so we wouldn’t see why her performance out of everything else would be a major problem. If the character’s part was in any bigger in the movie then it would have definitely been a problem. Lucky for us X-Men First Class is headlined by James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Kevin Bacon who were all amazing to watch.
