Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for the sequel Transformers Dark of the Moon. The film is a follow up to 2009′s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and 2007′s Transformers. The robot franchise made Shia LaBeouf an overnight sensation and has earned hundreds of millions at the box office.

The latest film is said to be the finale in director Michael Bay’s trilogy. In true Bay fashion, Dark of the Moon is expected to be bigger, louder. and more action oriented than its predecessors. Judging from the latest trailer it looks like all that and more. Check out the video below…

Earlier today it was announced that Transformers Dark of the Moon would hit theaters several days earlier than predicted. The film will open on June 29th instead of July 1, which will give it a head start on the holiday weekend. It seems like Paramount wants to dominate the box office this summer and they’ve found the perfect way to do it — scheduling!

The plot for the film seems to mix actual history with fiction. The moon landing is somehow wrapped into Decepticons and Autobots and we have no idea why. Whatever the reason, Optumus Prime isn’t happy about the United States government’s involvement with the moon. There’s something about it that has him all riled up.

You can expect to see tons of new robots and new humans as well. The most notable fresh face will belong to Carly, Sam Witwicky’s new girlfriend. She’ll replace Megan Fox’s Mikaela character from the previous two movies.

Aside from LaBeouf, the cast of Transformers Dark of the Moon consists of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey, Alan Tudyk, John Turturro and Leonard Nimoy.
