Carolyn Moos is the former girlfriend of Jason Collins ans she has come out with nothing but support for her former flame, who just opened up as being gay. Get her story and photos here.
Carolyn Moos and Jason Collins were once engaged. They had a beautiful relationship for eight years and then suddenly, he called off their wedding and completely ended their relationship. That was back in 2009 and Jason just came out as gay. He first opened up to his twin brother, who despite being so close, had no idea. His family and friends have had nothing but support, as has much of the Twitterverse and his teammates.
Collins said today that he has always known he was gay but fought it for years.
Jason is the first NBA player to come out openly as gay. In an interview with with ABC, he said:
‘I always knew I was gay, its like you know that the sky is blue but you keep telling yourself it is red.
‘I fought it for a long time but when you finally get to the point of acceptance there is nothing more beautiful. It feels incredible.’
And while it would seem natural for Jason’s former fiance Carolyn Moos to be at least very hurt, she is completely supportive.
She told TMZ:
‘It’s very emotional for me as a woman to have invested eight years in my dream to have a husband, soul mate, and best friend in him. So this is all hard to understand.
‘I care about [Jason] tremendously and only want the best for him. I want Jason to be happy for a lifetime and stay true to who he really is, inside and out.’
