I am surprised how some people are more worried if the judge is a woman or a man, instead of supporting Savannah.

Good for her, I have daughters and I would be proud of how she is standing up to these boys and letting everyone know what they did! This however should not be made out to be a gender issue! its a human being issue, to make it a Men vs. Women issue just makes it worse! and the judge is a women. Hope they throw the book at these boys, but we need to stop pitting race against race, gender against gender, enough already!

If one actually READS the article the writer clearly states: ‘At least this time the judge is a woman’ But, At the beginning of the paragraph the writer also states: ‘The name of the judge who now holds her fate in HIS hands is…etc.’ I did some research and found the judge is indeed a woman and that one can contact her through her office via phone or fax.

There is a difference between rape, assault and abuse both legally and actually. These boys did not plead guilty to rape or assault, but to first degree sexual abuse. I’m not saying what they did was right, or wrong for that matter, what I’m saying is that as of now we are only hearing one side of the story and frankly, as of now, it isn’t a story that I buy.

In the paragraph where you discuss the judge, you make several statements such as ‘his hands’, ‘men who have no clue’ or ‘the good old boys network.’ It’s obvious that you didn’t do even a simple Google search to learn that the judge is a woman.
